where every meal tells a story
In a city as diverse as Toronto, so much culinary talent lives behind closed doors. CookConnects was born to bring it to the table.
We’re building a platform where passionate home cooks can share authentic dishes and meaningful food stories with neighbours who crave real, healthy meals.
Along the way, we’re tackling food waste, supporting local cooks, and helping people connect - one meal at a time.
what we believe
food is culture, care, and connection
every bite can support sustainability
healthier meals should be easy to find
home cooks deserve to shine

From Code to Community
(Co-founder, CEO & Tech Builder)
I’ve been writing code since high school, not because someone told me to, but because I genuinely loved building things that worked. That curiosity took me from national programming contests in Vietnam to earning a Master’s in Computer Science from EPFL in Switzerland.
Along the way, I co-founded Wizy Vietnam and led engineering teams at companies like Paymentology. I’ve worked on global systems, scaled platforms, and built products used by thousands. But deep down, I’ve always been drawn to problems that feel personal, the kind that connect people in real life, not just through screens.
So when Becca and Truc shared the idea behind CookConnects, it just made sense. The mission was simple and powerful: use technology to bring people together through homemade meals.
At CookConnects, I focus on turning that mission into something real - building a platform that’s stable, scalable, and designed to feel as warm as the food it supports. From cloud infrastructure to the tiniest user interaction, I believe tech should empower, not complicate, the human experience.
We’re not just creating another food app. We’re building a space where local cooks can shine, and where anyone can find a taste of home just around the corner.

From Missing Home to Making Connections
(Co-founder, Experience Design Guru)
When I moved abroad for college, I expected to feel homesick during the holidays. Maybe during phone calls home or while figuring out laundry. But for me, it hit hardest at dinner.
Growing up, I never had to cook. My dad did it all. Every meal he made was comforting, familiar, and full of love. Sitting at his dinner table was how I felt grounded. So when I moved away and had to cook for myself, I didn’t just miss the flavors - I missed him. I missed the feeling of home.
I searched restaurant after restaurant trying to find something that felt familiar. But nothing ever came close. Then I started seeing others online - newcomers, students, expats - sharing the same longing for the food they grew up with. That’s when it hit me: we weren’t just hungry. We were looking for comfort and connection.
CookConnects grew out of that shared craving. It’s a platform that helps people find real food made by real people in their own communities. Food that tells a story, that brings back a memory, that makes you feel seen.
As a designer, I want every part of the experience to reflect that - to feel warm, personal, and meaningful. CookConnects is more than a marketplace. It’s a reminder that home can be found in the most delicious places.

From Home-Cooked Chaos to User-Centered Design
(Co-founder, Marketing & UX Strategy)I grew up surrounded by love and food. My grandma and mom filled our kitchen with homemade meals that brought us together and made every day feel special. So naturally, I didn’t realize how good I had it until I moved abroad and had to feed myself.
That’s when the real struggle began. I went from soul-warming dishes to surviving on ramen noodles and every egg recipe YouTube had to offer. As I tried to recreate even the simplest meals, I realized I wasn’t just missing good food - I was missing home.
That’s when the idea for CookConnects began to simmer. What if finding a real, home-cooked meal, made with care, not chemicals, was as easy as ordering takeout? What if talented home cooks could share their meals and stories with people nearby, just like my mom and grandma did for me?
With a background in marketing and UX design, and a lot of empathy from lived experience, I set out to help build a platform that makes food feel personal again. At CookConnects, I focus on shaping the experience so it’s not just convenient, but deeply human. Because in the end, food should feed more than just hunger. It should feed connection.
